Luton Town Targeting THIS Birmingham City Star

Newly-promoted Luton Town are prepared to make an impact in the upcoming 2023/2024 English Premier League season, and they’re starting by potentially signing up-and-coming midfielder Tahith Chong.

A product of the Manchester United Academy, Chong played five games for the Reds between 2019 and 2022. He was then signed to English Football League outfit, Birmingham City, on a four-year contract worth £1.5 million. Since then, he has scored four goals in 38 appearances.

Now, it has been reported that Luton are interested in acquiring the 23-year-old Dutchman’s services as Birmingham are prepared to sell him for £5 million.

“In the year that he’s been with us, you can see that his performances were getting better and better,” said Birmingham coach John Eustace about Chong in a recent interview. “He matured as a player. To lose him wouldn’t be ideal, but it’s part of what we do.”

Although Eustace hopes Chong will make a successful return to the Premier League, he still harbours hopes of retaining him.

“We want to make players better and if we are not successful moving up the league, we want the players to have the opportunity to get into the Premier League. If that happens, then great, but hopefully we can keep him.”
